Two pages and I'm already vehemently at odds with the author: he confuses/conflates empathy and sympathy as if he's never even heard of a dictionary: Empathy is recognising another's emotional state in a given circumstance. Sympathy is the urge to relieve or celebrate another's emotion based on whether it is negative or positive, respectively i.e. caring about it. This is the source of the highly offensive "Aspies/autistics have no empathy" fallacy.
