The Fifth Heart - Dan Simmons

The first 80p could be summarised as, "Look at all my lovely research!" which was what I most feared. Now we're entering a "Sherlock Holmes stories are inconsistent and silly" phase - yes, we all know that, Dan - if the preposterousness isn't part of the charm for you, you aren't gonna like Arthur Conan Doyle. Between the two, there was a brief outbreak of story - which is what we really want, Dan. Remember when you used to write stories???!
