More Letters of Charles Darwin, Vol 2 - Francis Darwin, Charles Darwin

My appreciation of these letters on human evolution is somewhat hampered by my not having (yet) read The Descent of Man. He avoided this topic in Origin of Species but the implication was rapidly perceived.

 

Wallace mentions an example of "group selection," (doesn't use the term). This has been a contentious modern issue. Gould-Eldredge camp in favour. Dawkins camp against. (Natural history vs biochemistry.)
