Vedute di Roma, H Schulze Alteappenberg & Ulf Solter

Vedute di Roma - H. Schulze Alteappenberg, Ulf Solter

Well, the pictures are good!

Piranesi made such an impression on me when I saw his Imaginary Prisons/Prisons of the Imagination in Berlin that I just had to get more in book form. Unfortunately, the only book available was this catalogue of Roman scenes, in German. Hence it didn't take me long to "read"!

There's a contrast between the completely fantastical scenes in the museum and these realistic views of Rome, but they are both amazing. I have to read something where the art isn't architectural, now though, after Canaletto and this!
