It is with trepidation that I embark on a determined effort to get through this book, which could squish an entire litter of kittens in one go. It is substantially longer than either The Riverside Chaucer or the Oxford single volume Shakespeare. It's clear from "How to use this Book" that the editors felt liberated from the constraints of editing a  Shakespeare edition and had lots of fun doing things differently.

 

Check in about a couple of years from now to see if I've made any significant progress...
